The holidays are sneaking up on us fast, and here I am, promising myself this year I’ll start shopping in September. Spoiler alert: It’s October and I still have plenty to do! If you’re anything like me (a mom juggling school runs, work emails, and the endless amount of laundry and the ever changing to-do list) you’re probably in the same boat. We are scrambling for gifts that feel thoughtful without breaking the bank or your sanity.

This time around, I’m zeroing in on something close to my heart: teen girl gifts. With my own daughter hitting those gloriously chaotic teen years I’ve become a bit of an unofficial expert. I am loving watching my daughter slowly leave her “little girl” years behind and move towards adulthood. Its a bit bittersweet, but it truly has been a joy seeing the young lady she is becoming!

Whether you are shopping for your daughter, niece, best friend’s kid, or that stylish goddaughter who’s suddenly a little bit taller than you, finding the right teen girl gifts can feel like decoding a secret language of trends and self-care rituals.

Don’t worry because I’ve got you covered with a gift ideas for teen girls that is equal parts fun, fabulous, and functional. These picks are all about empowering that spark of independence while nodding to the whimsy of youth. When curating gifts for teen girls, I tried to strike a balance between what they love and what they need. For example, if she needs a new water bottle, get her a trending one in a color she loves.

Teens are at a unique stage, blending self-expression with practicality, so your gift should reflect that duality. Here are eleven tips to guide you:

11 Tips For Buying Gifts For Teen Girls

Finding a gift can be tough. There are a number of things that you can take into consideration in order to help you find the best gifts.

1. Know Her Interests

Think about what she is drawn to or what she loves to do in her spare time. Tailor gifts to her passions by considering a record player for a music enthusiast, art supplies for a creative soul, or tech for a gadget lover. If she’s a Swiftie, check out these gift ideas! She is much more likely to love a gift if you know it is in her sphere of interests.

2. Check Social Media

Scroll her Instagram, Pinterest, or TikTok for clues about trending brands, colors, or items she’s pining over. Check her Spotify playlists for her favorite artists. All of these can help give you ideas for what she will be into.

3. Consider Practicality

Think about things that she needs to get through the day. Consider items like reusable water bottles or portable chargers that fit her busy school, sports, and social schedule.

4. Think About Her Routine

Does she study a lot and could appreciate some good headphones? Is she spending a lot of time on beauty and would appreciate a new product like an ice roller? Is she trying out new hairstyles and would love a thermal hair brush to perfect a blowout? Perhaps she is always rushed in the morning and could use a no heat hair curler to sleep in for an easier morning.

5. Embrace Trends

There are lots of new trends that are always coming and going. Plush toys are huge for teens – they have been around for a few years and haven’t left yet! Instant cameras are also such a fun gift – be sure to add extra film!

6. Focus on Self-Care

Most teen (and tween) girls are very into self care and skin care. Gift skincare tools such as lip balm or under eye patches. Touchland products are also very on trend for girls and they have a variety of popular products, including hand sanitizer and body spray!

7. Personalize It

Add a custom touch, like monogramming on a bag or engraving a necklace, to make it uniquely hers. Consider adding some personalized stickers to a water bottle or send a link to a fun Spotify playlist that you made to go with a speaker!

8. Stay Age-Appropriate

Avoid overly childish or overly mature gifts and aim for a balance that suits her teen vibe. For example, an electric scooter helps a young teen get around her neighborhood or to and from school – this gives her the extra independence she is wanting when she’s not yet old enough to drive.

9. Set a Budget

Be sure you set a budget before you start searching for gifts! Your teen doesn’t need you going into debt over a Christmas or birthday gift.

10. Include a Note

Pair the gift with a handwritten message to add a heartfelt, personal touch. Teens are in those in between years where they are trying to figure out who they are. Writing a note telling her how much you care about her and affirming all the lovely things in her is a gift that she may treasure more than she realizes.

11. Check for Durability

Pick products that can withstand her active lifestyle, like water-resistant speakers or sturdy (yet very cute and trendy) slippers. Teens are on the cusp of adulthood, but they often haven’t mastered how to take care of their things like adults! Take that into consideration as you make your purchases.

These tips ensure your gift resonates with her world while showing you’ve put thought into it.

How to Find the Latest Trending Items for Teen Girls

Keeping up with teen trends can feel like chasing a moving target, but it’s easier than you think with the right tools. Teens are trendsetters, and their preferences evolve fast, so staying ahead can feel daunting! Here’s how to find the latest must-haves:

  • Follow Influencers: Check out teen influencers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. They often showcase products like skincare launches or tech gadgets in their hauls. These are likely items that
  • Explore Hashtags: Search hashtags like #TeenGifts, #GiftIdeas2025, or #TrendyTeens on X and Instagram to spot what people are talking about.

If you’re anything like me (i.e. a mom juggling school runs, work emails, and meal prepping) you know the holiday gifting struggle is real. Especially when it comes to teen boys. One minute they’re obsessed with Fortnite, the next they’re deep into building custom skate decks or debating the merits of VR headsets versus the latest sneakers.

My oldest child just hit the teen years and I am discovering that gifts can be a little more tricky than when he was little. But guess what? We nailed it with a few thoughtful picks that had him actually saying “thanks, Mom” without sarcasm. (Miracles do happen!) That’s why I’m spilling all the tea on my go-to gift guide for teen boys this year. We’re talking casual, fun vibes that feel personal. My goal is to give you some ideas that will help stay on budget and not have to interrogate the teen boy in your life for ideas!

Teen Boy gift ideas - mom and teenage son

I’ve pulled together a roundup inspired by some of the latest trends and also added some timeless picks that’ll stick around much longer. Before we dive into the gift ideas, let’s chat quick about the craziness behind gifting teens. Teens at a crossroads. They’re independent enough to curate their own vibe but still have one toe in childhood. Trends shift fast for teens, so leaning into their world is key. Let’s make this holiday season one where the wrapping paper hits the floor with genuine excitement. You’ve got this!

Why Gifting Teens Feels Like a Plot Twist (And How to Nail It Anyway)

Teens aren’t little kids anymore, and they don’t want another stuffed animal or Magic Treehouse book. But they’re not full-on adults either, so obviously skip the ties and coffee mugs. The magic is finding gifts that scream “I see you” while fitting seamlessly into their busy lives. Think gadgets that ramp up their gaming sessions or small luxuries like fresh kicks that make them feel put-together without trying too hard. From my own experience the best gifts blend utility with that “whoa, that’s fire” factor.

It’s less about the price tag and more about the story: Does it spark a hobby? Fuel an inside joke? Or just make his day smoother amid schoolwork, friends, and sports? These are the types of gifts teens are really going to love!

4 Of The Latest Trends for Teen Boys

Okay, confession: I used to think “trends” meant whatever’s on the mall’s front window. But raising teens and tweens has turned me into a low-key internet and social media sleuth. For teens you can never go wrong with anything high tech or electronic (like a Nintendo Switch– a new one just dropped!) – these gifts stand the test of time. For more of the recent trends, here is what I have found:

Anything Athletic

Think Nike Clothing, Adidas shoes, hoodies, basketball backpack, new soccer gear, baseball bat tape….you get the picture! This year I’m a big fan of the Envoy Training Scooter to practice scooter tricks indoors (or outdoors) on a small trampoline! Even non athletes will love new Nike socks – this is the type of gift that all teen boys will love. I am also loving the AirUp Water Bottle for a super unique way of teen boys getting flavored water.

Portable Tech

Think wireless earbuds with sweat-proof builds for workouts, waterproof speakers for lounging by the pool, and LED strip lights for room makeovers. VR and AR games also seem to be exploding thanks to Meta’s updates.

Throwback Gifts – 90s Vibes

Disposable cameras and vinyl setups are huge, nodding to film photography and analog tunes. It’s nostalgia meets innovation. I love the idea of giving teens something to enjoy that is not digital.

Outdoor Games: Scooters, frisbee games, balance boards, Spikeball, and hacky sacks for group hangs. I love giving teens fun activities that they can do with their friends. Portable games are even better, as they can be done anywhere!

Pro Tips for Buying Gifts for Teen Boys

Alright, let’s get practical because theory’s cute, but execution wins holidays. Here are my battle-tested tips. These will save you time, tears, and returns.

1. Observe Like a Hawk

Don’t straight-up ask “What do you want?” That’s basically code for “I’m gonna tune out now.” Instead, look at what he’s searching for, see what catches his eye at school events or when out shopping, note his playlists, or go ahead and leave a blank wishlist on the counter. I highly suggest chatting with his friends’ parents to get more ideas!

2. Be Smart About Your Budget

I try to keep my gifts within a reasonable budget to make them accessible for as many people as possible. You will see a splurge item or two. You could splurge on one big item, like the MetaQuest Virtual reality headset or the Nintendo Switch 2 and then supplement with his favorite snacks, drinks, or something that he needs but is still fun! Of course, don’t forget to consider experiences as gifts!

3. Personalize Without Overdoing It

Engrave a skateboard with his initials or wrap in paper from his fave band. Save the cute monorams for the teen girls! Boys might not show it much, but when you put effort into showing that you KNOW them it really is meaningful.

4. Let Him Pick

You really can’t go wrong with gift cards for teens. Consider Dick’s Sporting Goods or Nike for clothes or athletic items. You can always choose an Amazon gift card if you just can’t decide on the perfect store. Of course, cash is always great too! I love the option of the funny cash gift cards. This cash gift card that says “bruh” is especially perfect for teens!

5. Don’t Get Stuck On Trends

Of course, finding the trending teen items is fun for a gift. But you know your son or nephew better than any TikTok store or reddit thread! If you know he is really into something, dive into that. Grab a music lover a portable speaker. If he loves hanging with friends, a movie projector might be a fun way to bring the guys over for a hang out night! A tried and true gift right in his wheelhouse is better than trying to impress him with the latest trend.

If you’re anything like me, the holidays (or birthdays) sneak up faster than a surprise album drop. If the person on your list is a die-hard Swiftie you’re in luck. Taylor Swift’s world is a goldmine of inspiration, from subtle nods to her eras to full-on merch hauls. There is no shortage of Swiftie gift ideas – the hardest part can be figuring out which to choose!

While I can’t claim full blown “Swiftie” status, I do enjoy listening to Taylor’s music. I even took my daughter to an Eras Tour concert. I’m not as huge a fan as she is, but seeing her light up during the show with those glittery outfits was worth every second! The energy in that stadium was electric, and it gave me a front-row seat to her love for Taylor. It was a special bonding moment that I’ll truly never forget.

It can be so fun to really dive into the world of Taylor Swift, and her music and style give us tons of ideas for meaningful, personalized gifts that any Swiftie would treasure.

3 Things to Think About When Buying Gifts for a Swiftie

Swifties aren’t just fans – they study Taylor’s music to find the emotions, lyrics, hidden messages, and aesthetics of her music. So, before you purchase a gift, ask yourself a few questions to try to figure out the best gift for the Swiftie in your life.

What is their favorite era?

First off, which era is their vibe? Taylor’s discography is huge, and every album has a specific feel and tone that defines it. If the person on your list is all about the glittery pop of 1989 (Taylor’s Version), lean into bright, fun pieces like colorful vinyl or beaded accessories.

A Folklore girl? Go earthy with poetic journals or candles that evoke a cozy cabin night. If she’s into the latest album, Life of a Showgirl, think sparkly, stage-inspired items like a shiny juice glass or these LOASG bracelets. Matching the gift to their favorite era ensures it feels personal and hits the right emotional chord.

Consider your budget

Next, consider budget. Spending more money doesn’t equal more thoughtfulness! Official merchandise starts at $20–$50 for basics like tees or posters, but Swifties aren’t necessarily needing or wanting official merchandise. You can find great items for under $20 on places like Etsy or Amazon. If you have a bigger budget go for vinyl sets or personalized items.

One thing to remember though, Swifties cherish the sentiment. A $10 candle with a handwritten lyric note beats a pricey hoodie. I tried to mix up a little bit of both official and non-official merch on my gift guide.

Is she a superfan or more a subtle fan?

One thing to consider is if the person you are buying a gift for is a super fan or not. Is she wearing Taylor clothes and friendship bracelets? Is she listening to every podcast about Taylor and Travis? Does she try to find all the hidden easter eggs in videos and music? If so, consider a more direct Taylor Swift gift.

If the Swiftie in your life just loves having Taylor’s music in the car and house or she has a special affinity to an album or two, consider getting a more subtle gift with nods to her favorite songs.

Tips for Choosing and Wrapping the Perfect Swiftie Gift

Alright, let’s get practical. For the Swiftie that knows everything about Taylor, considerthe Eras book. This book has tons of behind the scenes photos that she will absolutely love looking at (bonus! it makes a great coffee table book if she’s got her own place). If she is all in on the friendship bracelet vibes get a bracelet making kit. If she loves Taylor but doesn’t necessarily want to scream it, consider a water bottle in the color of an album. Is your friend a homebody and loves to listen to Taylor’s music while chilling? Consider a candle and a pair of slippers.

There are also some really fun wrapping ideas to fully embrace the Swiftie vibe:

  • Use album colored wrapping paper or tissue paper
  • Use guitar strings for ribbon
  • Include lyrics on a tag for example, “You are the best thing that’s ever been mine” for a best friend or sister.
  • Use a polaroid photo of you and the gift giver as the “to/from” tag
  • Add a “13” charm to the ribbon or gift bag handle

Taylor’s Albums: Color Schemes

If you are hoping to choose items or wrapping paper to match a particular album or era, this should help! Here is a list of all of Taylor’s albums with the color schemes and the vibe she connected to each one:

  • Debut (2006): Warm neutrals like soft beige, light brown, and hints of gold; a country innocence with a touch of sparkle
  • Fearless (2008): Shimmering gold, sunny yellow, and pale pink, capturing the fairy-tale romance and youthful optimism
  • Speak Now (2010): Regal purple, deep violet, and soft lavender, symbolizing magic, dreams, and a princess-like charm
  • Red (2012): Bold red (obviously!), paired with black and hints of gray, reflecting passion, heartbreak, and a dramatic shift
  • 1989 (2014): Bright turquoise, electric blue, and white, with pops of silver, gives a sleek, pop-city nightlife vibe
  • Reputation (2017): Dark black, metallic silver, and snake-green, representing rebellion, mystery, and a fierce comeback
  • Lover (2019): Pastel pink, lavender, baby blue, and soft yellow, creating a dreamy, romantic, and whimsical feel
  • Folklore (2020): Earthy tones like moss green, muted beige, and grayish blue, with woodsy accents for a rustic, storytelling mood
  • Evermore (2020): Deep forest green, burgundy, and soft cream, enhancing the autumnal, melancholic fairy-tale vibe
  • Midnights (2022): Midnight blue, deep purple, and starry silver, with hints of teal, for a late-night, introspective glow
  • The Tortured Poets Department (2024): Black, white, and muted gray, with soft rose or parchment tones, reflecting poetic melancholy and vintage elegance
  • Life of a Showgirl (2025): Glittering gold, sparkling silver, and iridescent hues, capturing the dazzling, performative energy of her latest era

Expanding the Gift Journey

Taking my daughter to that Eras Tour concert opened my eyes to the depth of Swiftie passion that people have. I’ll admit, I was more there for her than for Taylor at first, but the crowd’s energy—singing every word to “Shake It Off” and trading bracelets like currency was something I’ll never forget! It inspired me to dig deeper into gift ideas.

For your Swiftie, think about adding a small concert keepsake.  Maybe a photo print of the tour or a lyric card from their favorite performance to make the gift feel like a memory. Don’t forget to involve them in the process if you’re unsure. A casual “What’s your fave Taylor era right now?” over dinner or in the car with your daughter and her friends can unlock a treasure trove of ideas. If you’re gifting for a group of friends, consider matching gifts such as a set of era-colored candles or bracelet kits to spread the Swiftie love. The key is to make it feel like you’ve tuned into their frequency, whether they’re a subtle listener or a full-on Easter egg hunter.

Wrapping It Up

There you have it—your ultimate guide to gifting a Swiftie! Whether it’s a $10 lyric journal or a $50 tumbler, the magic lies in the thought you put into it. My daughter’s joy at that concert reminded me that these gifts are about celebrating her passion, even if I’m still learning the lore. So, crank up “Invisible String,” grab your cart, and let’s make this holiday season evermore special. What’s your go-to Swiftie gift? Drop it in the comments—I’m always on the hunt for the next obsession. Happy gifting!

If you’re a busy parent like me, you know that keeping your kitchen running smoothly during the summer and school year can feel like a full-time job. Between camps, sports, school lunches, and endless snack requests, having a solid meal prep system can be the difference between chaos and calm.

I work full time from home, and while it’s a huge blessing to be around for my kids, it also means our days can be pretty hectic. Between meetings, school pickups, and sports, and after school activities, I don’t have time to stop and make meals or snacks on demand.

Meal prepping at the start of the week helps our family so much — not just for me, but for my husband, Sam. Having everything prepped and easy to grab makes it smoother for both of us. I love that this is a way that I can take a chunk of food prep off of Sam’s plate.

dog in kitchen

As a busy mom of four (plus two dogs!), I’ve tested my fair share of meal prep tools and storage solutions over the years. I’ve also picked up some fun tricks along the way — like how to turn leftover sandwich crusts into tasty treats (spoiler: I even wrote an e-book that includes these recipes!).

Today, I’m sharing my current favorite meal prep items that help me tackle breakfasts, snacks, and lunches for my family.

My Favorite Meal Prep Items (And How I Use Them)

Here’s a breakdown of my favorite meal prep items from my Amazon list — including how I actually use them to simplify our daily routines. These are just a few of my favorite items – be sure to check out the entire list to see what else I use on a regular basis!

1. Bento-Style Lunch Boxes

Products I Love: Bento Style Condiment Container

These are hands-down one of my top picks for school and summer lunches. The compartments encourage me to pack a balanced meal, and my kids love the variety. I typically fill them with:

  • Sandwiches
  • Fruit and veggies
  • Homemade dips
  • Treat: mini muffin, pretzels, or a small cookie

They’re easy to clean, leakproof, and sturdy enough for all four of my kids.

2. Silicone Snack Containers

Why I Love These: These aren’t just for baking! I use these colorful little containers inside lunch boxes to separate snacks, dips, and small treats. It makes the lunch look fun and keeps items from touching (which my picky eater appreciates).

How I Use Them:

  • Portion out crackers, grapes, or trail mix
  • Serve hummus, ranch, or nut butter

Bonus: They’re dishwasher-safe and endlessly reusable.

3. Clear Storage Bins for Fridge and Pantry

You know I love organization items throughout our home. I can’t overstate how life-changing clear bins are for organizing meal prep. I use them to create snack stations in our fridge and pantry. My kids know exactly where to grab their approved snacks, and it keeps me from overbuying things we already have.

Clear storage containers for refrigerator organization

How I Organize:

  • Fridge bin: string cheese, yogurt tubes, pre-cut fruit

  • Pantry bin: granola bars, trail mix, crackers, applesauce pouches

Being able to see what is running low helps me keep our grocery list up to date!

4. Leakproof Sauce Containers

Why You Need These: Ever had ranch dressing or syrup leak all over a lunchbox? These little containers are a total mess-saver.

What I Use Them For:

  • Salad dressing – including ranch for dipping!
  • Syrup for mini pancakes or waffles
  • Hummus, peanut butter, or guacamole

They’re small, easy to open, and keep sauces where they belong.

5. Reusable Snack Bags

I use these every single day. They’re eco-friendly, durable, and perfect for snacks on the go.

How I Use Them:

  • Goldfish crackers, trail mix, or fruit
  • Carrot sticks and cucumbers
  • Freeze smoothies in them for a cool summer treat

They’re dishwasher and microwave safe too — total mom win.

7. Sandwich Cutter & Sealer

Product I’m Obsessed With: Sandwich Maker & Crust Cutter

If you haven’t jumped on the sandwich cutter train yet — let this be your sign. This little gadget turns an ordinary sandwich into a fun, crustless pocket that my kids never complain about. I use it all the time for school lunches and on-the-go summer meals.

Why I Love It:

  • It’s quick and easy
  • Makes the best sealed sandwiches like store-bought Uncrustables, but way cheaper
  • Works with any kind of filling (pb&j, turkey and cheese, Nutella and banana — you name it)

Bonus Tip: Don’t toss those crusts! I actually save ours and use them in fun recipes. I put together an e-book with my favorite kid-friendly meal prep ideas and it includes a bunch of recipes for the leftover crusts! It’s such a fun way to reduce waste and get a little creative in the kitchen.

You can grab my e-book with crust recipes here — your future self (and your budget) will thank you.

A Weekly Meal Prep Routine

If you’re new to meal prepping for your family, here’s a simple routine you can start with. As time goes on you will know exactly what works best for your family! My biggest tip is to make sure you take a look at your calendar before you prep. You may find that some weeks you need more snacks than others depending upon your schedule.

Sunday Prep:

  • Wash and cut fruits and veggies
  • Portion out snacks into bins, containers, or baggies
  • Pre-make breakfast egg bakes or overnight oats
  • Fill lunchbox bins with non-perishables
  • Make and freeze homemade uncrustables

Wednesday Midweek Reset:

  • Restock fridge bins
  • Prep extra fruits if needed
  • Check pantry snack bin levels

This can feel a little overwhelming and time consuming, but it really doesn’t take too much time on Sunday. When I start to feel like I don’t want to meal prep, I just remember how much easier our mornings go when I have breakfasts and lunches prepped and ready to go before the week even starts.

Meal prepping for four kids might sound intimidating, but with the right tools and a simple system, it’s totally doable. I truly believe these meal prep favorites from my Amazon list have made my life easier — and I hope they’ll help you too.

Meal Prep Recipes

Need some inspo? Make sure to grab my recipe ebook! This is a $7 digital download that includes over 30 pages of crowd pleasers that you can prep ahead of time or enjoy on the fly. My favorite? Uncrustables that you can prep and freeze for lunches and then reuse that crust in one of my 5 Crust Cup recipes – a meal planning favorite!

If you’ve been wanting to get more organized with your kids’ meals and snacks, I highly recommend starting small. Invest in a couple of these essentials, pick a day to prep, and see how much smoother your week runs. I promise, your future self will thank you.
