This is a DIY project perfect for beginners. If you don't own a table saw ask the lumber store to make the cuts for you on the shelf tops - this will cost very little

Step 2:

You can cut this piece with your table saw or circular saw, or have your lumber store cut the pieces for you. Lay in on your frame and use a nail gun to nail it down along the sides.

This will give the shelves the finished 'thick wood/floating' look. You can see how that looks in the bottom photo.
