Vlad’s Red Velvet Latte
If you can’t choose between hot chocolate and coffee, this red velvet latte is the best of both worlds.

- 2 shots of espresso or ½ cup of coffee of choice
- ½ cup of milk of choice
- 4 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- ½ tsp of vanilla extract
- 2–3 drops of red food coloring
- Whipped cream, optional
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare by making your espresso or coffee and setting it aside in a coffee cup.
- In a saucepan, combine your milk and chocolate. Stir continuously over medium heat. Do not allow the mixture to boil or the chocolate will burn.
- Once your milk and chocolate are heated through, remove the saucepan from heat.
- Stir in food coloring and vanilla extract.
- At this time, froth the milk mixture using a milk frother.
- Add the frothed milk mixture to your espresso.
- Top with whipped cream and sea salt.
Notes
If you happen to have hot cocoa prepared already, you can simply add in vanilla extract and red food coloring to your hot cocoa mix. Once that is combined, add in your coffee of choice.
