Frequently Asked Questions

Did you Build or Renovate?

We purchased our home in mid 2020 and renovated.  The house was built in 1886 and was in ROUGH shape.  The bulk of our renovation was done via an HGTV episode and we have continued finishing the house on our own for the past 3 years.

How many kids do you have?

We have 4 kids – 2 boys and 2 girls!

How did you become an influencer?

When we moved to our second home it was a bit of a ‘project house’ (even saying that now makes me laugh because it was not a project house in comparison to our future).  I wanted a way to document what I was doing to the house and started a blog more for me than anything.  I slowly shared on social and over time it turned into a job.

Is it difficult being an influencer?

There are sides to this job that are uniquely hard.  Mostly on time and mental health.  It is a unique situation having much of your success wrapped up in numbers that also feel a bit like “popularity”.

There is also no turning off the job which is hard.

That said – I am very passionate about saying that there are hard sides to the job but it is still wonderful.  I think most amazing things come with some hard sides, and all good things take hard work.

How did you become so organized?

I actually think I am organized in a way that is worth sharing because it doesn’t come natural for me.  I am naturally a scatter brain, but my parents are both VERY type A so our house was always PERFECT.

I thrive in an organized home but I also have to work for it and have systems in place.  So when I say that my organization is organization for everyone that is why.

How would you describe your decor?

I would say I lean grand millennial.  I have for most of my life liked color in my decor, but for a few years around when we moved I was working really hard to fit the trends.

When my social and blog content shifted from all decor I was able to take a step back and do WHAT I LOVE and that has meant more color and a very grand millennial feel.
